Overview
A Portland couple preparing for a kitchen remodel contacted Healthy Home for a required pre-permit asbestos inspection. Our targeted sampling of linoleum flooring and joint compounds revealed asbestos above the DEQ and EPA regulatory thresholds, so we supplied permit-ready asbestos survey reports and connected them with a couple licensed asbestos abatement contractors that can safely remove the materials prior to the contractor starting the renovation.

Overview
Healthy Home helped a homeowner in Bend indentify the cause of mold growth on exterior walls. We were able to recommend adjustments in furniture placement to generate airflow at the inside of exeterior walls, as well as suggestions on vapor barrier improvement during a planned siding replacement project.

Overview
A Grants Pass homeowner called Healthy Home prior to a renovation of their home for asbestos and lead testing. A limited asbestos and lead-based paint inspection was completed to represent the materials that were to be impacted by the work. None of the materials sampled contained asbestos, but the paint on the drywall walls in the areas to be impacted contained lead above the EPA/HUD regulatory threshold. Healthy Home provided guidance to the homeowner to select licensed renovation professionals who implement lead-safe work practices to keep the occupants safe during the project.

Healthy Home was able to identify the source of a leak causing moisture to accumulate in the attic of a home in Eugene, and suggest corrective actions to stop the leak and prevent mold growth. The homeowners were provided with guidance on hiring qualified contractors for repairs.
